API License
Thank you for using the Simcoe Weather API. This agreement governs how You are permitted to access the Simcoe Weather Data and what you can and can't do. By accessing the Simcoe Weather Data, You agree to accept and abide by the terms set out in this Agreement in respect of Your access to and use of the Simcoe Weather Data.1. Conditions of Use
1.1 You do not need to register to have access to, retrieve and use Simcoe Weather Data. Its free and available to use for everybody!
1.2 Simcoe Weather may use technical measures to track Your use of the Simcoe Weather Data for the purpose of ensuring compliance with this Agreement.
1.3 We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your use of the service at any time, so please read through this agreement and our Privacy Policy to decide whether your site meets the API License before you begin API integration.
1.4 There is a 1,500 requests per hour limit. That means if you are over the 1,500 requests per hour you will start to receive error messages. Contact us if you need more requests per day.
2. Use of the Simcoe Weather API
2.1 Your service must be freely accessible to end users. You are not allowed to commercialize any of our data from the API!
2.2 You are not permitted to restrict any Simcoe Weather Data at any time.
2.3 You will not use Simcoe Weather Data for any purpose that is fraudulent, misleading or illegal.
2.4 You agree not to use Simcoe Weather Data to post any data or content that is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, tortious, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, libelous, invasive of another's privacy or without another's permission, hateful, or racially, ethnically or otherwise objectionable to any person for any reason, natural or corporate including but not limited to race, disability, sex, sexual orientation or religion.
2.5 You agree not to use Simcoe Weather Data to post any unsolicited or unauthorized advertising, promotional materials, "junk mail," "spam," "chain letters," "pyramid schemes," "phishing" or any other form of solicitation, including, without limitation, the solicitation of users to become subscribers of other on-line information services.
2.6 You will implement suitable caching in accordance with the HTTP headers sent with web service responses. You will not make more than 5 requests per originating IP address per second.
3. Liability & Warranty
3.1 We try our best to provide accurate and reliable weather forecast information on this site. However, we cannot guarantee its accuracy or timeliness. Our weather forecasts are based on our own interpretation of data that we have accessed.
3.2 The Simcoe Weather API gives users the chance to submit their own weather observations. We cannot guarantee it's accuracy or timeliness of any user submitted weather reports. We are not liable for any damages due to severe weather based on these user weather observations.
3.3 Simcoe Weather will upgrade the API periodically, and you must update your site to use the new versions of the API. We will notify you of updates on the Simcoe Weather API Group. If we make a non-backwards compatible change, we will give you at least a month's notice to make the transition, during which both versions of the API will be available.
3.4 Simcoe Weather may, from time to time, prevent certain Simcoe Weather Data from being available via the API.
3.5 We do our absolute best to keep the Simcoe Weather API up and bug-free, but you use it at your own risk.
