I want to talk quickly about some new things we have launched recently here at Simcoe Weather.

Last 24 hour Observations
We have added a new Observation page. On there you can see all the latest, in some cases near real-time, observations within the Simcoe Weather coverage area. You can also click through each of those individual observation stations to see the observations within the last 24 hours that have been reported. Some observation stations only report very hour, while other ones may report every 10 minutes, especially the Personal Weather Stations. There are also a few stations that are reporting actual weather conditions, such as CFB Borden, Muskoka Airport and Toronto Buttonville Airport. There is also a link to see the last 24 hour observations in the local forecast page.
Note: Its important to look at the timestamps of the last observations reported!

Regional Webcams
Another new page we added is the new Webcam page. It displays the regional webcams within the Simcoe Weather coverage area, grouped by location. The webcams might not always work, since they are provided by external websites. We also added a new section in the local forecast that shows the nearest webcam of the location of the local forecast.
Note: Once again, its important to look at the timestamps of the webcams to see when the picture was taken!

Sun & Astronomical Information
Lastly, we added a new section in the local forecast that shows the time of the sunrise and sunset as well as other Astronomical Information for that day. If you find any errors, or want to see more Astronomical information that we don't display currently, contact us and we'll see what we can do.

Improved Simcoe Weather Mobile Website
This is fairly important new addition. We had the Simcoe Weather Mobile Website for a while now, but we only concentrated it to get it into the newer smartphones. We where thinking to always support all mobile phones, so that's why we re-designed the mobile website to make it capable of being viewable on all mobile phones, as long as you have an internet connection. However, we did add some extra gimmicks if you have an iPhone/iPod Touch, Android or Palm Pre by adding the ability to automatically detect your location using your phones GPS. The year 2010 just got started, but we have already been actively working on new features, including the Simcoe Weather API, in where we have made many additions, including a new Webcam API.
